Conference in conjunction with the Czech EU Presidency
Prague, June 19th – 20th 2009
Finding new ways of financing social innovation has been a key interest to both our organizations. We know that many of you share this mission. With this conference, the challenge has arrived on the European agenda.
As a social investor, Ashoka has led the field of social entrepreneurship for the past 30 years, and has created a network of more than 2,000 social entrepreneurs around the globe. The ERSTE Group has pioneered the idea of a people savings bank 190 years ago, and today serves 40 million customers in Central and Eastern Europe. Recently, the bank and the foundation started good.bee as a bank for the underbanked in the region.
They are delighted to unveil an innovative partnership for social entrepreneurs in Central and Eastern Europe. They would very much like this to be a partnership that is open to all of you. The conference should serve as a platform to discuss the central role of banking in the rise of social entrepreneurship, to share expertise, and to create a powerful coalition.
